Is BowTech buying Ross Archery?

Posted by Aneal Roney in Untagged

I pulled this off the wire today. The way I read this is there has been no purchase of Ross Archery, however, sounds like Andy Ross will be influencing some promotion of new BowTech models.

When it rains it pours - My 2008 Antelope

Talk about RAIN!!! It has been a long time since I have seen this much rain this late in the year. In fact, we had TORNADO warnings for the first two days of our Antelope season. I was praying that the area that I was hunting was relatively dry and that I might be able to sit a tank until I was forced to do a little spot and stalk.

Introduction to the BowCast Biology Blog

Posted by Chris Roe in Roe Ecological Services

Well, Aneal twisted my arm, and talked me into putting together a blog for everyone in the BowCast community.  ...actually, he didn’t have to do any twisting at all – I enjoyed being able to help out on some of the episodes, and enjoyed your questions and comments, so when he asked if I’d put together a Blog for BowCast, I said “You bet!”

As this is a diverse hunting community with folks

Tulare, CA - Support our Paralympian Archers!

Posted by Aneal Roney in Untagged

Boy, just came across this blurb and it kind of struck me the wrong way.  I copied the story below from the Outdoor Wire.  Here it is:

Meanwhile, in California, one of the nation's best paralympic athletes has been told he can no longer practice his archery in his driveway. Jeff Fabry, 35, of Tulare, California, has been practicing down his driveway and across the street (for longer shots) for

Hello Everybody in Bowcast land.
How about a little about myself. I am 16 yrs old I live in sw Colorado. I will be a junior in high school this year. I don’t have to go very far to go bow hunting just out my back door for mule deer. We have some good bucks in our area. I have been hunting for 5 years and I started bowhunting in 2006.

Score your Pope and Young Animal at Cabela's Aug. 23-24

Posted by Aneal Roney in Untagged

I have been to Cabela's Fall Great Outdoor Days in the past. Usually a good time with some decent deals on merchandise. I have never seen this service for scoring your deer - but if you want to get that official Pope and Young score, this sounds like one way you can do so. I came across the following blurb on the web:

A recent scouting trip

Hey Everybody...

Just when I was about to get totally discourage, I had a pretty decent scouting trip. As many of you know my deer season doesn't start until Janurary so alot of the work I am doing now is trying to learn new country and hopefully find a new honey hole. As always, my goals are to find sheds and hopefully find animals. Unfortunately, this year I hadn't really found anything noteable until my recent trip. I headed into some country that I suspected held a pocket of Coues and Mule Deer but I need to get in there and really take a look.  The funny thing about this area is that a lot of people that draw this tag often drive right past this little section of huntable land.

Folks,

The Colorado Antelope Season has opened, and in very unusual fashion for this time of year the season opener has been met with day long thunderstorms across most of the state. Not necessarily good news for those of us seeking out waterholes to arrow our buck!

I guess what I will do is just give you a layout of how it went for Stella and I.

While I was up in Montana, Matt Hogue was able to get up and check the 3 new stealth cam trail cameras I had set out a couple of weeks ago.

Trail Cam #1 (Wallow)

You have already seen some pictures from Trail Cam #1 over a wallow we hunted several years ago.  To date, we only saw herds of cows coming through the wallow area.  The good news is that we did get some pics of bulls.  All pretty small,
