So before I get into the specifics of the equipment I used on this hunt, I thought I would give you a list of all that made up my "toolbox" on this hunt, and then each of you could comment on what you want to hear more about. Maybe a specific question on how I used a product, or maybe you want to know more about why I use a specific product. I'll share a partial list here, and look forward to hearing what the next blog entry should cover from all of you. If I missed a piece of equipment you want to hear about, let me know and I'll cover it. Gotta love user driven content!

I have read many of your emails looking for some details around the BowCast team hunt up in Montana. With hunting 8 days out of state and coming back to the t-day holiday, it has taken me a little while. So my apologies for the delay. To make up for it, Anthony and I will be running through our recent hunts (Me in Montana and Anthony in Kansas) on the next episode of BowCast. Stay tuned, but for now, here is a preview.

When it rains it pours - My 2008 Antelope

Talk about RAIN!!! It has been a long time since I have seen this much rain this late in the year. In fact, we had TORNADO warnings for the first two days of our Antelope season. I was praying that the area that I was hunting was relatively dry and that I might be able to sit a tank until I was forced to do a little spot and stalk.

Because of birthdays and family visiting I wasn't able to make the first two days of the hunt, usually two days isn't that big of a deal but our Antelope season is only 7 days long so you have to take advantage of everyday. So I rolled out of Silver City Monday morning around 5:00 am trying to make it to my hunting spot before noon. I was able to get to my camping spot around 10:00 am. So I quickly setup camp and headed to the mountain. I say mountain but in reality the area I was hunting was pretty flat. The good thing about this area is that I could see and glass a long way but the problem was that the antelope would see me coming.

Anthony and I first saw the sight when we visited the Sure-Loc booth at the Archery Trades Association (ATA) show back in January. As we did with many of the products we tested and reviewed at ATA, we took notes on each product detailing what was new and cutting edge, and what was not so new. We did the samefor the Sure-Loc QC.

Hope everyone had a great spring weekend in your neck of the woods.  I had a birthday party scheduled on Saturday for both of my daughters (Their b-days are on April 27 and April 28 - I guess I pretty much rut about the same time each year ;-) ) .  The outdoor picnic plans got yanked do to high wind and eventually snow on Saturday.  Weather is always a little tricky in April and in Colorado.  We were able to move the venue back to the house, and the pinata was still operational.
