Folks,

As promised, I pulled a few pics to share with you what all went down in Salt Lake City this weekend. It is amazing to me how we all came together for an event like this - it truly has never been pulled off before.

All morning we were on the course for a "fun shoot" that was in a scenic venue and very challenging. We had the opportunity to listen to Shane Michelli, COO of Evolved Habitats/Evolved Harvest on herd management and the science behind food plots and game attractants. We watched the most cutting edge archery hunting film on the big screen to date, and we followed up with a Hollywood style after party. Between the sponsors of the BowCast VIP ticket (Evolved Habitats , G5 , Nikon , Western Hunter Magazine , Dead Down Wind , Trophy Hunter Magazine , and Hoyt ) along with the FMP sponsors, we gave away close to $20,000 worth of prizes and hunts. Not too bad!

I want to thank all the members of both the FMP and BowCast team for helping with setup and all the preparation it took to bring a day of archery together - from 7:00 AM to 1:00 AM - over 18 hours of fun.

In addition, none of this would have been possible without the sponsors of the event. To all of the sponsors, a big thank you from myself, Anthony, and the greater BowCast team.

Enjoy the pics - there is sure to be some more coming!

Aneal and Matt leave Denver.

VIP's arrive up at the course.

The course stretched far and wide!

Jeff Payne from FMP get's a ride up to the course.

PS - Video will take a bit, but we'll have some footage from the event. Enjoy!

PPS - I'll be adding some more pics from the rest of the day in later posts.

As I am compiling all the footage and pictures of some of the BowCast VIP Event highlights, I thought I would give you a teaser.

This was taken on a phone, and everyone in the room was surprised when the announcement was made that Evolved Habitats was going to give away TWO hog hunts in Florida. This clip will give you a little insight into the atmosphere at the after party. Look for much more to follow:

This weekend was amazing...industry leaders, hardcore new school bowhunters, and the FMP crew in full effect. Big props to Aneal for making it happen and if you missed it...don't let it happen next year! My application is submitted to FMP!

Well, it was there and now it is gone.

The BowCast VIP Ticket to the FMP World Permiere of Proof is now a memory for 2008.  But don't worry, we are already talking about raising the roof for the next movie premiere.

Bear with me as it was a long weekend of setup and events for what was in my opinion one of the coolest and most outstanding public archery events around.  We shot a sick 3D course and had a lot of fun.  We watched FMP's best production to date (IMHO) and it was not only entertaining, but it was "Proof in the Pudding".  And lastly, we kicked back and had an amazing raffle at the BowCast VIP Party.

I always new we had a "different breed of bowhunter" connected in on BowCast, but it was completely different to see many of you shoot.  I say 15 year olds that would give me a run for my money.  I also got to shoot with the "Bravehearts" who decided to launch arrows at 122 yards (safely) just to push the envelope a bit.  I gotta say, I was impressed by the talent Salt Lake City (and beyond) showcased.

So, where are the pics and the "debriefing"?  Bear with me.  I am still in recovery mode.  We have a ton of video and still photo footage.  I have previewed some of it - good stuff.

Thanks to the BowCast and FMP teams for all the hard work that went in to this.  There is no paycheck at the end of the day for an event like this, other than the satisfaction that we connected with more bowhunters that hunt and train the way we do.

Stay tuned....more from the weekend to follow.

PS - If you did attend, I'd love to hear what your favorite part of the day was?  The shoot?  The Herd Management Seminar by Evolved Habitats?  The freebies?  The Raffles?  The Movie?  Aneal losing his voice shouting out winner names?  What?

Late,

Aneal
