Sunday, 30 March 2008

Podcast Description

Here are some very typical archery tech topics that spark quite a bit of discussion in your local archery shop or on the BowCast forums:

  • Speed vs. Foregiveness - What's better from a hunting bow?
  • Carbon vs. Aluminum - Which is tuly more accurate?
  • Fixed Blade vs. Expandable - What shoudl you shoot?

On this episode of BowCast, we don't only get an opinion on these questions, but we get the opinion of a guru bowhunter, an ASA and APA certified professional archer, a team member on the Realtree Outdoors TV Show and Monster Bucks series, and last but not least, a 1991 ASA World Champion.  In addition, Travis answers some questions on 3D tournaments, his experiences in the field, a new show he is a part of called "The Bone Collector" as well as his entry into the web 2.0 world of "Blogging".   Check it out!

- Thomas Jefferson

Anthony comes out of the basement to join Aneal and they both discuss the topic of using local archery pros and pro shops as very valuable resources in getting better as a bow hunting athlete. This episode if really broken into two halves - first, Anthony and Aneal cover some "101" terminology related to a bow setup (See image below).

Then, arming you all with some basic terminology, the duo talks about the importance of getting over any "fear" or "intimidation" felt when approaching an archery pro. They talk about the importance of asking questions, as well as how to be effective when seeking out technical and tactical infromation from your chosen archery pro. Whether you shop at a local archery range or a large "big box" outfit - after this episode you will be heading out to ask more questions and raise your game!
